Set right in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park and nestling under the Black Mountains between Abergavenny, Brecon and Hay on Wye, the Cwmdu region offers much to see and do. You can throw away the car keys and try a different walk every day from the house. We both love walking and can offer plenty of suggestions and advice.

Mountain biking is also becoming increasingly popular. The National park aurthority is setting up a number of marked routes, and publishing a guide booklet to help you find your way around. If you have your own bikes, we can provide secure storage and drying facilities. Alternatively there are numerous places to hire bikes.

There are many opportunities for horse riding. The Brecon Beacons National Park is hosting the 2005 Le Trec competition this autumn. For more information visit the BHS website.

Other activies can include canoeing, gliding, rock climbing, gorge walking, caving to name but a few

There is a good local pub, The Farmers Arms, within easy walking distance and no shortage of renowned eating houses in nearby Crickhowell. The attractive market towns of Abergavenny, Brecon and Hay-on-Wye are all within easy reach, and offer a full calendar of events for your entertainment, including Brecon Jazz Festival and Hay Literary Fair.
